This page covers the GSMcall Halo desktop application and the Halo Click to Dial browser extension. It describes what they read, what they store, and what they send.

What Halo Click to Dial does

Halo Click to Dial is a browser extension that lets you place a telephone call from a phone number shown on a web page. It does not place calls itself and has no account of its own. It asks the GSMcall Halo application running on the same computer to dial, and Halo places the call using the GSMcall sign-in it already holds.

What the extension reads

The extension reads the text of pages you visit on your firm's case-management site in order to find phone numbers and offer a Call button beside them. It also reads a phone number you have selected, when you choose Call with GSMcall Halo from the right-click menu.

This page content is never transmitted anywhere. It is examined in your browser and discarded. The only thing the extension sends is the phone number you chose to call, and it sends it to the GSMcall Halo application on your own computer, over a local connection that does not leave the machine.

What the extension stores

Two things, on your computer only: a pairing token issued by Halo when you approve the connection, and the local port number Halo answered on. Removing the extension, or disconnecting the browser in Halo's settings, discards them.

What the extension does not do

• It does not contact any server operated by GSMcall or anyone else.
• It does not collect analytics, usage statistics or telemetry.
• It does not read or store your GSMcall password. Your password is never entered into, or available to, the browser extension.
• It does not sell or transfer your data to third parties.
• It does not use your data for any purpose unrelated to placing the call you asked for, and never to determine creditworthiness or for lending.

Calls you place

A call placed this way is an ordinary call on your firm's phone system. It appears in GSMcall's call records exactly as a call dialled on the handset does, and it is subject to your firm's agreement with GSMcall and to your firm's own policies on call recording and retention. The extension does not change what is recorded, how long it is kept, or who may see it.

The Halo desktop application

GSMcall Halo signs in with your GSMcall account and shows you calls that account is already permitted to see. It stores your session on your computer, encrypted by the operating system, so that you are not asked to sign in every day. Sign out in Halo, or revoke the device from the GSMcall portal, to end that session.
